One year at Daytona when Ted was a rookie road racer a lot of the big name riders were there and everyone was practicing for the 200, Ted was riding well and had just went
through the infield and was starting up on the high bank, he put his head down to head down the back straight all of a sudden his right foot came flying off the foot peg with a force that almost caused him to crash. When Ted recovered he looked over to
his right and there with a big grin was Kenny Roberts who had reached over and jerked Ted's right foot from the foot peg. Wow what a scare, he was still shaking when he pulled in the pits. When Kenny came in and parked his bike he came over to Ted and
said Hey Boody that didn't scare you did it.
